A Blogging Fool

I know that I've been gone for a while -- my mother passed away on June 6th, and I've been absolutely overwhelmed dealing with everything. I'm just about ready to return to my normal life, and that means that my blogs will be returning too. I look forward to reconnecting with my site visitors -- keep an eye out for me in late September!

Anyone who knows me realizes that I have a lot of opinions about the world -- and I'm not afraid to share them. I used to write articles, but I've taking to the world of blogging like a fish to water, and I may have gone a little overboard. I have 5 different weekly blogs -- Monday is about getting organized, Tuesday is the full-time RVing lifestyle, Wednesday is for living child-free, Thursday is set aside for a "my fascist state" rant about some moronic aspect of modern life that needs to be changed -- and Friday is dedicated to helping you simplify your life. Come inside, read, subscribe, and be sure to share your own opinions...

  • Who Wants To Get Organized? -- A Little Order, Please This weekly blog is a compendium of tips, tricks, techniques, and theory about how to organize every area of your life. You will find a little bit of everything -- time management, paper management, space organizing, clutter-clearing, home, work, kids, finances, travel, holidays -- as well as a discussion of my organizing philosophy, where our clutter and disorganization come from, and the first steps for organizing any area of your life...
  • Living In A Tin Can -- The Full-Time Airstreaming Lifestyle Matt and I have been full-time RVers since July of 2008 -- and each day brings a new life lesson (help, I'm growing, and I can't stop!) This weekly blog shares our experiences living the nomadic life -- tips about the mechanics and practicalities of full-timing, obstacles we had to overcome to be able to travel year-round, what it's like to work on the road, and our observations about the world as we see it from our Airstream...
  • Life Among The Breeders -- It's A Crazy Kid-Centric World This weekly blog takes take a look at what it's like to live child-free in a society that is so geared toward the needs of parents and their offspring (and subsequently not concerned at all about my needs as a no-kidder). I try to keep my commentary as fair and even-handed as possible -- but I do occasionally veer off into a rant every now and then. If you're an overly-sensitive parent, enter at your own risk...
  • In My Fascist State -- If I Were In Charge Around Here No matter how positive you try to be, there is still a lot of stupidity you have to deal with in the world. This blog is intended to be a about anything and everything that drives me up a wall (these damned wrong-number dialers -- what the hell do we do about them?) It's my fascist state, and I make the rules -- if you don't like it, go get your own fascist state! If you want to see what the world would look like if I were in charge, come right on in...
  • Weekly Simplicity Reality Check -- Making Life A Little Easier The only way I know to describe this blog is to say "Get real, folks!" There are so many of us who are deluded by the idea that we can have it all, do it all, be everything to everyone, and not have a nervous breakdown in the process. Well, I'm here to slap you around a bit and remind you about how things really work -- one week at a time! As a Professional Organizer and full-time RVer, I've dedicated my life to radically simplifying -- clearing out the clutter, cutting back on the obligations, reducing my need for material possessions (and subsequently my footprint on this earth), and making space and time in my life for my true priorities. If I can do it, so can you...
  • We Came, We Saw, We Took Pictures -- Travel Stories From A Full-Time RVing Photographer Matt and I are full-time RVers and we spend the entire year traveling across the country (and Canada, and soon Mexico and Central/South America). I love nothing more than to visit someplace I've never been before, hunt up all the cool/fun/unusual things to do, take a lot of pictures -- and then tell people about our adventures! This blog is set up like a city-by-city travel guide (with a whole lot of narrative). You're welcome to either follow our travels chronologically here, or click on our interactive map to find stories about a particular city or region...
